What is truth and what are the tools that lead us to it?
What is the guiding force inside that brings us to a place of peace?
How do I know right vs. wrong, and is it a universal knowing?
What questions are in my heart that I haven’t discovered answers to out of fear of not getting answers?
Is it ok not knowing?
How do I move forward when I don’t have 100% knowing?
Is there a healthy limit to my questions…or maybe a healthy way to question?
Am I alone in my wondering or are there other people out there wondering too?
Where is God in all of this?
Discernment may be the single-handed most important guide on a discovery of truth. Especially in a world where so much “truth” is thrown around, sometimes carelessly, sometimes not. But what really is discernment?
A warm, fuzzy feeling that gives you rest vs. a cold, anxious feeling that causes distress?
Simply the ability to judge well? Or is it less concrete and more perceptual?
Finding peace in the middle of much chaos?
Learning what your boundaries are and making the choice not to cross?
A posture of risk and trust toward a Higher Power?
Whatever your definition of discernment may be, you’ve certainly experienced situations where it must be practiced, usually at the precipice of decision or in the face of a person whose behavior just doesn’t add up.
We’re back at it again at .Life, ready to dig in and shed some light on this elusive topic. And we may even give you a few ideas to ponder, to think on…to discern…for yourselves.
